Reverse
Each 2011 American Silver Eagle coin displays John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle design on the reverse. This design, which was used from 1986 to mid-2021, portrays a front-facing bald eagle with the US national shield on its chest, holding the arrows of war in one branch and the olive branch of peace in the other.
